Bible Lesson 8/27/17

BIBLE, CHRIST JESUS, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Christ Jesus:

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness (John 12).

Word--And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1).

authority--What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out (Luke 4).

ephphatha--He hath done all things well:  he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak (Mark 7).

seed--Our Master taught spirituality by similitudes and parables.  As a divine student he unfolded God to man (Eddy, 1906, p. 117).

watch--Take ye heed, watch and pray (Mark 13).

fruit--Take nothing for your journey (Luke 9).  Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man (Eddy, 1906, p. 496).

Bible Lesson 8/20/17

BIBLE, MIND, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Mind:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord (Isaiah 55).

oneness--Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Matthew 22).

gods--Behold the zeal of belief to establish the opposite error of many minds (Eddy, 1906, p. 280).

Legion--Then they went out to see what was done; . . . and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind (Luke 8).

brain--Consciousness, as well as action, is governed by Mind,--is in God, the origin and governor of all that Science reveals (Eddy, 1906, p. 480).

mind--Not partially, but fully, the great healer of mortal mind is the healer of the body (Eddy, 1906, p. 326).

unity--Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you (II Corinthians 13).

Bible Lesson 8/13/17

BIBLE, SOUL, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Soul:

My people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 31).

God--When humanity does understand this Science, it will become the law of Life to man,--even the higher law of Soul, which prevails over material sense through harmony and immortality (Eddy, 1906, p. 311).

man--Happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul (Eddy, 1906, p. 60).

woman--The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things (Eddy, 1906, p. 307).

child--Man is not a material habitation for Soul; he is himself spiritual (Eddy, 1906, p. 476).

El Dorado--If selfishness has given place to kindness, we shall regard out neighbor unselfishly, and bless them that curse us (Eddy, 1906, p. 9).

joy--My soul shall be joyful in the Lord:  it shall rejoice in his salvation (Psalms 35).

Bible Lesson 8/6/17

BIBLE, SPIRIT, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all (I Corinthians 12).

blessings--Spirit blesses man. . . .  These are the effects of one universal God, the invisible good dwelling in eternal Science (Eddy, 1906, p. 78).

omnipresence--And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest (Genesis 28).

omnipotence--Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy (Eddy, 1906, p. 249).

omniscience--Superstition and understanding can never combine (Eddy, 1906, p. 288).

liberty--God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1).

affection--If our hopes and affections are spiritual, they come from above, not from beneath, and they bear as of old the fruits of the Spirit (Eddy, 1906, p. 451).
