BIBLE, LOVE, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Love:

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, . . . I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow (Jeremiah 31).

manna--[DIVINE LOVE] is my shepherd; I shall not want (Eddy, 1906, p. 578).

miracle--Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals (Eddy, 1906, p. 13).

compassion--Jesus introduced the teaching and practice of Christianity, affording the proof of Christianity's truth and love (Eddy, 1906, p. 473).

comfort--And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life (John 6).

joy--I will dwell in the . . . [consciousness] of [LOVE] for ever (Eddy, 1906, p. 578).

Bible Lesson 7/23/17

BIBLE, TRUTH, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Truth:

He is the Rock, his work is perfect:  for all his ways are judgement:  a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he (Deuteronomy 6).

holy hill--O send out thy light and thy truth:  let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles (Psalms 43).

Joseph--All things work together for good to them that love God (Romans 8).

Hezekiah--Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies (Eddy, 1906, p. 162).

wisdom--There was a little city, and few men within it; . . . Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man (Ecclesiastes 9).

Jesus Christ--I am the light of the world:  he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8).

obedience--I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth (III John).

BIBLE, LIFE, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Life:

My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: . . .  For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life (Proverbs 6).

DAY.  The irradiance of Life. . . .  The objects of time and sense disappear in the illumination of spiritual understanding (Eddy, 1906, p. 584).

Enoch--Man is the idea of Spirit. . . .  He coexists with God and the universe (Eddy, 1906, p. 266).

food--The fact is, food does not affect the absolute Life of man, and this becomes self-evident, when we learn that God is our Life (Eddy, 1906, p. 388).

prodigal--In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. . . .  God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being (Eddy, 1906, p. 63).

Lazarus--A demonstration of the facts of Soul in Jesus' way resolves the dark visions of material sense into harmony and immortality (Eddy, 1906, p. 428).

understanding--Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it (Proverbs 16).

BIBLE, CEREMONY, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Sacrament:

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6).

bread--Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:  he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst (John 6).

wine--Our Eucharist is spiritual communion with the one God. . . .  Our cup is the cross.  Our wine the inspiration of Love, the draught our Master drank and commended to his followers (Eddy, 1906, p. 35).

vocation--Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love (Ephesians 4).

sorrow--All have the cup of sorrowful effort to drink in proportion to their demonstration of his love, till all are redeemed through divine Love (Eddy, 1906, p. 26).

morning--This spiritual meeting with our Lord in the dawn of a new light is the morning meal which Christian Scientists commemorate (Eddy, 1906, p. 35).

healing--Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? . . .  Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. . . .  Feed my sheep (John 21).

BIBLE, GOD, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

God:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (I Corinthians 2).

Love--To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him (I Corinthians 8).

Mind--I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee (Daniel 2).

Principle--This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people (Jeremiah 31).

Christ--And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him (Mark 1).

understanding--Blessed are the pure in heart:  for they shall see God (Matthew 5).

unity--And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob (Micah 4).

consciousness--The divine understanding reigns, is all, and there is no other consciousness (Eddy, 1906, p. 536).
