BIBLE, CEREMONY, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
Sacrament:
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6).
bread--Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst (John 6).
wine--Our Eucharist is spiritual communion with the one God. . . . Our cup is the cross. Our wine the inspiration of Love, the draught our Master drank and commended to his followers (Eddy, 1906, p. 35).
vocation--Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love (Ephesians 4).
sorrow--All have the cup of sorrowful effort to drink in proportion to their demonstration of his love, till all are redeemed through divine Love (Eddy, 1906, p. 26).
morning--This spiritual meeting with our Lord in the dawn of a new light is the morning meal which Christian Scientists commemorate (Eddy, 1906, p. 35).
healing--Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? . . . Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. . . . Feed my sheep (John 21).
